Computer Science 340
Exam 3 Review
**DRAFT** **DRAFT** **DRAFT**
The third hour exam will be on Thursday, Nov. 29, and will cover
chapters 12 - 13, 14 - 15, 19 - 20 together with a few possible questions on
earlier material as discussed below. Textbook slides (with some
modifications) are available on Plato: the primary ones we will use
are those corresponding to the chapters covered.
The exam will be primarily essay and short questions.
- Questions from new material
- Be able to discuss reuse, incorporating several levels of reuse (eg.,
reuse of applications, design, components, functions)
- Be able to describe some of the issues that should be taken into
consideration in designing a user interface.
- Be able to say what verification and validation are, what audiences they
target, and what documents they test against.
- Be able to give heuristics for module level testing and work an example
(this will be the only non-essay question on the exam)
- If we have time to discuss management issues, there may be a short
question from that area as well.
- Questions from older material (these will be gentle essay questions)
- Be able to say what software engineering is and to give an overview of it.
- Be able to describe the process of requirements elicitation and analysis
- Be able to describe what is involved in the design process
Please recall that, although I try to be complete in exam reviews,
all of the lecture and reading material is fair game. Please do
remind me of any significant omissions. Many thanks!
