Final Exam Review
The final exam for CSci 261 (meets
12:00 Noon MTThF) is scheduled for Noon Thursday, Dec.
13. It will be an in-class comprehensive exam.

- Be able to write code
In addition to these, we have covered the following topics since the last
exam:
- Trees and binary search trees. Be able to write the code necessary
to traverse a binary search tree (inorder traversal), to insert and find an
entry in the tree. Know how to delete nodes, but questions on deletion
will involve manipulating an illustration.
- Hashing.
- Be able to explain what hashing is (open address hashing and buckets)
- Be able to compute a hash value using quotient remainder hashing
- Be able to use the built-in HashTable and TreeSet structures
- Much of this is covered in the textbooks and in Java3.ppt, but also please
look at the sample programs
Finally, look for definitions and essay questions which tie together the
material in the course.
