Below are movies related to the epicycles example we looked at in class. The one on the right has the values for the radii of the small and big circles that we used in class. The one on the left has a bigger value for the small radius. In both, the blue vector is the position vector for the center of the small circle, the green vector goes from the center of the small circle to the point we are following, and the red vector is the sum of these two. In the right movie, the green arrow is pretty small.
